ROLEPLAY SAMPLE:It wasn't everyday Delilah treated herself. How could a trip to the zoo be anything of a treat? Well, if you enjoyed animals you would have to see it that way wouldn't you? Where else could you find a lion and a lemur in the same place. Sure... they were all in cages. Some of them very big cages. That was all for safety's sake. You couldn't have them all running around together. The carnivores would devour the place... then no one would ever want to come visit. As it happened, the young woman was standing in front of one such beast. A panthera leo to be exact. She read the sign in front of her with mild interest. They always talked of the places the animals came from, and how great it was there. Why didn't they just leave the animals there then. Sure, it was nice to see what wild animals looked like. But pictures served just as well, didn't they? Instead of treating them like garbage in confinement.
One might wonder, if she was so opposed to wild creature being in captivity why was the lady even here? The answer is simple. Veterinary medicine. No, she wasn't actually in the career. Not yet at least. But she was considering it. She was broke, flat broke. The idea of running off to Africa and helping poor sick Koalas or something was incredibly appealing to her. She would never let anyone hear this of course. Nor would she even act on it. But why at twenty four could she not still have her childish dreams of being the world's greatest lion doctor in the history of lion doctor's. All while being a princess of course. Well, maybe not that last bit... it was a bit farfetched after all. But when you start to evaluate how far you've gotten in life, and just how far you really haven't gotten. Sometimes the extraordinary doesn't seem as silly as it should. That was how Delilah was feeling now.
She hadn't written a song in days, not any good sort of song. Something that tugged at your heart and made you actually think about anything. No, all she was managing to produce were puppy love-love songs that no one should have to listen to. Cruel and Unusual punishment... that was what the producer has said right after he had listened to the track for the first time this morning. Cruel and unusual were also exquisite words to describe just how horrible it was writing the bloody thing. Not that she could say much. They had been her lyrics. They could make an entire generation long for the music of the ninety's again. If they'd even have to go back that far. Maybe the mimic was being too hard on herself. Maybe it wasn't really as bad as it sounded. No, it was always as bad as it sounded. Here in America the companies were much too competitive. Maybe her mom was right and she should just come home.
Delilah turned her attention from the lions and perked up only slightly as she saw an ice cream cart being pushed lazily through the pathways. Well, it was a slightly depressing day, she could use a pick me up. She stopped the old woman and purchased a small cone of vanilla. Right, that should do the job. She began licking the dairy treat slowly and wandered a bit farther to a cage full of primates. She snorted softly as she plopped herself on the bench next to their area. How could it be that a bunch of monkeys reminded her so much of the population of this great city. The girl smiled to herself as she watched a group sitting in a circle eating what she could only assume were fleas from the animal in front of them's coat. Something she definitely would not be able to get used to. She swiped her bangs absent-mindedly to the side of her face and continued to eat her ice cream.
