STEREOTYPE The studying good girl
ROLEPLAY SAMPLE: [*quote] CRASH! Ray opened her eyes to the disturbing sound. It echoed through her mind, matching it with words. A Fight. Ray lifted her baby blue covers off her body, reciting exactly what to do. This was not a drill. The thirteen year-old girl tried miserably to get out of bed. Desolately, the covers twisted with her legs, forcing Ray to fall head first onto the wood floor. Forget it.
Ray sat up on the floor, hearing some yelling from down stairs. Remembering suddenly the last time this happened unprepared, Ray reached under her bed. Her long fingers fiddled over unidentified objects. Evidently, Ray really had to clean under her bed some time soon. But right not now, it would be the most awful time ever. CRASH! Aw, damn! Ray had to move faster, tears were preliminary to swim down her cheek. She quickly wiped them away.
Finally, Ray found her treasure. Her purple iPod filled with songs for every mood. Ray grasped a blanket, pillow, and teddy bear along with the iPod. Tripping, Ray had concluded in her spaces closet. Her iPod turned to the max, Ray listened closely, repeating the lyrics. The blanket covered her quivering body, the pillow having a hurtful hug with Ray. The Teddy bear sat next to Ray, whom was supposed to substitute as Ben. Sadly, he was out of the house right now to comfort Ray.
About half an hour later, Ray was asleep in the closet. The crashing and yells had stopped, but the pounding music the iPod produced lived on. A knock on the door woke Raygin up. The sweetest, softest voice crept through the crack of the door. "Raygin? Honey?" Somehow, the iPod had run out of batteries quickly and was now off. Ray sat up wide awake. She could hear her mother trying to open the locked door.
"Coming," mumbled Ray. She jumped over her bed, slumming over to the door. Switched the lock, and opened the door. Her mom looked horrible. Red, blotchy eyes and messy blond hair made it obvious Mrs. Acker had cried along with Ray. "Where's Dad?"
"I have some awful news, Ray," Tara spoke, dodging the question. "The hospital called... and..." Tara looked down at the floor- Raygin- the floor- and sighed. "Ben was in an accident. He's.... not going to make it." Tears had already started coming down before, now a waterfall spilled from Tara. Ray looked up at her mom, a confused face on. Her brother was only seventeen. Ben was too young! He couldn't be gone! Not now! Ray dropped her head, walking to her bed. Tara left her daughter, her cries still noticeable even locked away in her bedroom.
Raygin Eve Acker looked out the window into the streets. Cars passed below her, the tress dancing with the wind. Flowers had sprouted that spring day, making it simply breathtaking. But all Ray could think about was her brother, Ben Clark Acker. He was her best friend, unlike many siblings’ relationships. Ben told Raygin things he wouldn't dare say to his parents. Such as, Ben had a wife. Yup, it’s still legal in some states to get married at the age seventeen. One weekend Mom and Dad were away, Ben drove her long-time girlfriend to one of those states (Now at the age of sixteen, Ray had forgotten which) and married her. Ray wondered if Stacie was told the news yet.
It didn't make sense, nothing made sense. Two hours later, her parents would break even more news onto Ray- they were getting a divorce. Okay. Fine. Just hope you know your only child is now depressed. Ray had to forget them.
