so here i am and i'm dying and i'm waiting for you, waiting for you --------------------------------------------------
No, sorry, he's not home at the moment...can I take a message? Rebecca grabbed a pen and some paper as the lady on the phone said to just have her father call her. The brunette scribbled down her name and number before hanging up. She sighed, putting the house phone back on the charger and hung the note on the refrigerator. She had been home all day, which wasn't an unusual way for her to spend a Saturday. What was unusual about it was the fact that her father was actually out doing something and Lyla was at a friend's house. It was remotely peaceful for once...and Becca hated it. Ever since her mother passed away, she had grown used to doing most of the things around the house and taking care of her cousin. She felt pretty useless now, even though she hated to admit it.
She pulled her phone out of her back pocket and was slightly disappointed to see she didn't have any messages or anything to distract her for a few minutes. She did, however, notice it was barely just past five and she was still in her pajamas. If she had a movie to watch or something, it might have been acceptable to sit around her pajamas al day, but she had no such excuse. Shaking her head, she made her way up the stairs and to her room to change. When she opened the door, she was reminded as to why she hated it. The family that lived there before them had an eight year old daughter who loved pink...and Becca was never allowed to re-paint the room, so she avoided it as much as possible. Not to say she didn't like pink, but there was a point where it was just too much.
Rebecca snatched some clothes out of her closet and quickly changed. She looked in her mirror to make sure it looked alright as she played with the hem of her red shirt and chewing on her lip. With the outfit approved, Becca pulled her hair back in a messy ponytail. She sat down on the edge of her bed and pulled some mismatched socks on and slipped on her red and black zebra print low tops. Of course her father hadn't been too happy when she walked into the house with them after she bought them, but he let it slide since she bought them with her money and not his. That was one of the very few things she got away with.
Snatching up her purse, Becca made her way out of the room and down the stairs. She slipped her gray coat on and walked out the door. She made sure it was locked before walking to her car and sliding in and starting it. She pulled out of the driveway with no real destination in mind as she pulled into city limits. For about fifteen minutes so drove around before settling on going to the diner. After all, she hadn't eaten since about twelve and they did have some awesome pancakes. Too late for breakfast, but who cared when everything on the menu was served all day?
Becca laid her head against the steering wheel once she put the car in park because she realized she didn't leave a note and her dad would freak. She pulled out her phone and left a message on the house phone telling him where she was. Once she hung up, she got out of the car and made her way into the diner. She sat down in a booth near the back and looked up when an older lady asked her what she wanted. A short stack of chocolate chip pancakes and a Coke would be great, she told her with a smile. And now, she had to wait as the woman walked off. Gah, she hated waiting.

Stand on the edge with me Hold Back your fear and seeNothing is real til it's gone Luke's bright blue eyes strained agains the sunlight that suddenly flooded into hsi room, and a groan sounded from his throat when he herd his foster mom start havign a ago at him saying that he shouldn't be wasting hsi day lying around in his bed. "Whatever" He mumbled pulling the sheets over his head and breathing a soft sigh when eh herd his bedroom door shut, sometmes he wadnered if hsi fosters aprents would ever just leave him alone and stop treating him like he was a child that needed to be told what to do and when to do it. After a moment, Luke removed the sheets from covering his head and his eyes squinted slightly as they adjusted the brighteness of his room. At least he didn't haev to go to school , it was thankfully saturday which meant he was free to do whatever he wanted to do. he guessed from his rude awakening thought that he was allowed to do anything that meant he was out of the house. Standing up Luke stretched out his arms and yawned as he walked across the room to the door way that led into hsi small bathroom. Turning on the shower, Luke steped in allowing the blast of hot water to wake him up a little more.
Ten minutes later and Luke was walking back into his room and across to the draws that he had, pulling one open he grabbed out some clean clothes and quickly pulled them on. Picking his cell up Luek had been expecting there to possibly be one or two new messages but was surprised to see that his inbox was actually empty, which casued a frown to play breifly across hsi features before he shrugged and slipped the cell into his back pocket before finally grabbing his jacket and heading down stairs. He stopped breifly in the kitchen and had time to down a glass of orange juice before his foster father decided to try and lecture him on school. So Luke told them he had to meet someone and grabbed his key to his motorbike and headed out of the house. No way would he stick around to hear the same lecture eh had herd about a million times now, it got a little bit boring after awhile. Walkign outside, Luek headed over to were his motorbiek was and pulled off the protective sheet that was over it before getting on, and kicking th stand out from underneath and starting it up.
Making sure his helmet was on securely Luke set off though were he was actually going tog o he wasn't so sure but he was defiantly feelign a little hungry now that he ahdn't actually had time to have breakfast or anything else to eat. As he turned left at set of traffice lights he realized he was only a few streets away from the diner. So Luke decidd he might as well stop by there and get himself something to eat, and then mayeb whilst he was there text some people and see what was going on today. Five mintues later and Luke parked his bike and pulled the helmet off and quickly ran his hand through his blonde hair messing it up just a little so it wasn't flat. He smiled slightly at a couple of girls that walked past and looked his way before he headed into the diner, he was pretty damn hungry now. When he walked inside, Luke's blue eyes glanced around taking in a few of the other people around, but they stopped breifly on a brunette that he saw sitting off to one side. He recgonized her from somewhere, and was pretty sure that it might have been school.
It bugged Luek when he wasn't able to figure out where he ahd seen people. Not really noticing he started to walk over to were the brunette was sat trying to figure out if it was around schoolt hat he had seen her. As he got closer it clciked with himt hat she was oenfo the girls that he ahd seen hsi friend Kory with a couple of times before. He finally reached were she was sitting and ptu on a smile as hsi blue eyes looekd to her. "Hey mind if i sit with you?" He didn't actualyl wait for an answer but sat himself down across from her. "Your one of Kory's friends right?" Luke asked as he gestured for the waitress to come back and he ordered himself a coffee and some panckaes. With that done, he turned his attention back to the brunette sitting across from him.

so here i am and i'm dying and i'm waiting for you, waiting for you --------------------------------------------------
This whole being alone at the diner thing was actually working out pretty well for Rebecca. Sure, she liked company, but she wasn't very talkative and she didn't have to deal with awkward silences or people bugging her about being so quiet. There was no pressure to start or keep a conversation going. It was rather peaceful, and Becca found herself sinking back into the plush chair of the booth. She closed her eyes for a few seconds, enjoying the light chatter and warmth of the diner. But, of course, peace never lasted long for her, whether it be because of her dad, her cousin, schoolwork, or, in this case, someone walking over to her booth.
"Hey mind if i sit with you?"
Becca jumped slightly at the sound of someone's voice and looked up to see a guy she didn't recognize. What the heck? Uhm, actually... she started, scratching the back of her neck nervously. Apparently he hadn't heard her say anything because he sat down before she could even finish her sentence. Wasn't he just ever so polite? Sure, have a seat she mumbled defeatedly as he waved the waitress over. He quite obviously didn't care that she might have had something to say, which automatically made her think he was probably someone she would hang out with. She preferred the people who actually listened. You know, just a thought. Wouldn't hurt anyone.
"Your one of Kory's friends right?"
Yeah, I am. She shrugged slightly before letting her gaze wander around the diner for a few seconds, then settling it back on the guy. Uhm...do I know you? The question came out a little ruder than she had meant for it to and she mentaly kicked herself for it. She wasn't a rude person normally, really. She was very polite and sweet most of the time, honestly. He had just caught her off guard and she got nervous around people she didn't know. Becca was probably the furthest thing from social, so it wasn't very hard to get her flustered when she wasn't expecting something to happen.
Obviously he knew who Kory was...so why wasn't he out with her somewhere? Or out with anyone else anywhere else for that matter? She wished Korinnewas with her because she could sit there and talk to whoever this was and Becca could eat in silence and slip out without either of them noticing. Kory knew how to keep a conversation going and how to keep it entertaining. Rebecca highly doubted anyone would have missed her if she walked out while Kory was there. They were really close friends, but they were so different. Kory was likable and Becca was...well, easy to miss in just about every sense. So why couldn't Kory get caught in these situations? This would either end up embarassing her or frustrating her. Becca didn't like the idea of either happening.

Stand on the edge with me Hold Back your fear and seeNothing is real til it's gone Luke wasn't eaxctly the kinda guy that ahd a problem walking up to people that he did't know, stuff like that was pretty easy for him. Probably because half the time when he did just happen to walk up to random people he was pretty rude about, not so much in a nasty way toward the person, but well it was jsut Luke for you really. So when he walked into the diner and his blue eyes looked round and spotted the brunette that he knew from somewhere, it was naturl for him to jsut walk over to where she was sitting. As he got close to the booth that the girl was sat in he frowned a little as he thought a little harder about were exactly he ahd seen her before, then moments before he reached where she was sat it clicked that she was one of the dozens of girls that he had seen Kory with before, so if she was friends with Kory, Luke guess that made her okay.
Of course he didn't actually wait for an answer when eh had asked if the brunette minded him sitting with her, but simply lowered himself down into the seat across from her which he guessed didn't give her much choice but to let him sit there. "Thanks" he said when she told him to have a seat after he already had doxne. Luke raised an eyebrow slighty he coudl already tell that whoever the brunette was she wasn't like Kory in the whole talkative sense and starting up conversationw ith randomstrangers, but still Luke wasn't a fan of sitting by himself so he guessed the brunette would do for now, for all he knew she might be more interesting that she looked, then again maybe not. Luke just wanted to make certain that the girlw as one of the one she had seen with Kory and smiled when the brunette said that she was indeed friends with Kory. "Ah cool, I know Kory as well" He said absently for a moment as he glanced around the diner before looking back to the brunette again.
Passing a hand through his short blonde hair, Luke lent back slightly in his seat as he herd the girl ask if she knew him. "Well obviously not but still I'm Luke" Learning some manners Luke had always been told that was what he needed to do so that he wouldn't come across so arrogant and impolite toward people, personally Luke didn't think he was actually that bad but hey other people had different opinions on the whole manners thing. "So did you get ditched here or something?" Luke asked adressing now the fact that a moment ago the girl had been sitting on her own looking a little lame really but he wouldn't say that out loud not wanting to be that rude seeming as she had been nice to him so far.
His blue eyes looked curiously across at the brunette, he wandered if other than just seeing her with Kory a couple of times if he actually maybe had a class with her or had seen he around school. Well didn't really matter much to Luke anyways he doubted he would ever actually talk to her after today, so he didn't really put to much thought into it now. He looked up when the waitress came back with their orders and he thanked her before lifitng the coffee from the table and drinking a little bit of it.
